Antibiofilm activities of crude extract and supernatant of Actinobacteria against biofilm formed by foodborne pathogens and food spoilage bacteria

چکیده

Bacteria form a biofilm that attaches the microbial population to solid surface, thus acting as barrier protect external stresses from bacterial community. In food industry, biofilms are believed be responsible for food-borne diseases and spoilages. This research was conducted characterize anti-quorum sensing (QS), anti-biofilm activity of crude extract, supernatant Actinobacteria isolates against foodborne, spoilage bacteria. is group filamentous spore-forming Gram-positive bacteria, which well recognized source novel secondary metabolites, such sensing. Two utilized in this study were recovered Indonesian marine environment previous study. Both demonstrated anti-QS on early detection assay using agar overlay method. The fermented, extracts obtained through extraction 100 % ethyl acetate further evaporation, while collected directly following fermentation. entire displayed capability an agent at concentration 20 mg.mL-1, alongside when its form. both supernatants based N-Hexanoyl-L- homoserine lactone (HHL) validation also categorized non-toxic Brine Shrimp Lethality Assay (BSLA).

Exploratory Tests of Crude Bacteriocins from Autochthonous Lactic Acid Bacteria against Food-Borne Pathogens and Spoilage Bacteria

The aim of the present work was to test in vitro inhibition of food pathogens and spoilage bacteria by crude bacteriocins from autochthonous lactic acid bacteria. Thirty autochthonous lactic acid bacteria isolated previously, belonging to the genera: Lactobacillus, Carnobacterium, Lactococcus,Vagococcus,Streptococcus, and Pediococcus, have been screened by an agar spot test and a well diffusion...

Antibiofilm potential of Lactobacillus plantarum spp. cell free supernatant (CFS) against multidrug resistant bacterial pathogens

Biofilm formation is a major determinant factor in development of bacterial infections. In addition, bacteria embedded in a biofilm are more resistant to antimicrobials and thus the ability of bacteria to persist and grow in a biofilm seems to be the major factor for pathogenesis and therapeutic failure. In the current study, a Lactobacillus plantarum spp was isolated from Siahmazgi cheese, tra...

Essential oils against foodborne pathogens and spoilage bacteria in minced meat.

The antimicrobial activity of essential oils of oregano, thyme, basil, marjoram, lemongrass, ginger, and clove was investigated in vitro by agar dilution method and minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) determination against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus and Listeria monocytogenes) and Gram-negative strains (Escherichia coli and Salmonella Enteritidis). MIC(90%) values were tested again...
